"Buyometrics" was a one-time exhibit designed by Herschman Architects for the 2001 GlobalShop "Store of the Future" competition. To realize this concept, Herschman Architects reached out to thirty specialized vendors and suppliers who donated their time, materials and expertise.
Truly a store of the future, customers at "Buyometrics" saw how shopping could be streamlined by debiting personal accounts using biometric data in lieu of currency or credits cards. A fully functioning face-scanning system was integrated with actual products and touch screens to simulate a real-time walkthrough recalling subtle parallels with online shopping.
